I made it into general population yesterday. I went straight into minimum security, which is good. The other inmates in my pod are pretty mature and relaxed. The rank system here is complex…remind me to tell you about it when you visit.
I already checked out five books from the library. I even went for a run yesterday, but it was rough. It’s been a while. Two months off and I think I gained 10 pounds. No good.
I lucked out and got a job in the laundry room. Most people have to start in the DFAC (Dining Facility). It’s super easy in laundry – I’m definitely not complaining.
I have to head to work soon, but the big thing is that you can visit me now. Hope to see you soon. (Russ was moved to Leavenworth from Cumberland County Jail in North Carolina on 20May2011.)
